Jennifer Pailey invites her younger sister, Lisa Pailey, to visit their hometown of Snowfield, Colorado. Concerned about Lisa's well-being in Los Angeles, Jennifer hopes that a change of scenery can provide her sister with a fresh start.

Upon arrival in Snowfield, the sisters are met with an unsettling silence in the once bustling town. The tourist season has ended, leaving the sisters feeling isolated as they navigate the deserted streets.

At Jennifer's home, the sisters discover the lifeless body of Hilda, their housekeeper, lying in the kitchen. Her face is frozen in terror, and bruises mark her body, signaling a violent struggle.

The sisters attempt to call for help but soon realize the phone lines are dead. Panic sets in as strange noises echo from upstairs, hinting that they are not alone in the house.

Their escape plan crumbles when Jenny's Jeep fails to start, forcing the sisters to walk to the deputy sheriff’s office as nightfall surrounds them. This decision reveals their vulnerability in a seemingly abandoned town.

Upon reaching the deputy's office, they discover Deputy Henderson's body, also bearing bruises and gunshot wounds. The gruesome scene deepens their fears as they search for answers.

To protect themselves, Jenny retrieves a shotgun from the deputy's gun rack. The sisters make their way to the bakery, believing the owners may provide refuge amidst the chaos.

Upon sneaking into the bakery, they horrifically discover two severed hands gripping a rolling pin, followed by the shocking revelation of Jacob and Anna's heads falling from above. This horrifying view solidifies the terror enveloping Snowfield.

Just as they grasp the gravity of their situation, Jenny and Lisa are confronted by Sheriff Bryce Hammond and his deputies. The group heads back to the deputy's office, still rattled from their bakery encounter.

At Candleglow Inn, they find a guest book revealing only four occupants, accompanied by unsettling music. This discovery heightens their anxiety about the limited population remaining in the town.

As the tension escalates, a desperate scream is heard outside, prompting the group to rush out. They witness the ominous disappearance of Deputy Steve, leaving behind only his empty shoes, heightening their sense of dread.

Meanwhile, in New York, Dr. Timothy Flyte is unexpectedly called by FBI agents regarding a matter of national security. His involvement connects a wider conspiracy to the events unfolding in Snowfield.

As Dr. Flyte travels to Snowfield, he theorizes about an ancient malevolent force tied to the disappearances. This revelation suggests formidable challenges that the local group must confront.

Tension escalates to horrific encounters as the group faces the frightening Entity. A dire confrontation ensues, challenging their will to survive against a malevolent presence with unimaginable power.

In the aftermath, the characters reflect on the horrors they've faced. Whispers of an unresolved threat linger in the air, leaving them to ponder the nature of humanity and the darkness that resides within.
