After returning to Helsinki from a failed variety‑show tour, Pekka Puupää and Pätkä are assigned to refresher training as frogmen. During the diving exercises they encounter the mermaid Helmi and, to Justiina’s astonishment, bring her home and place her in their bathtub. Later, now civilians, they end up on a plane bound for Suez, where UN soldiers corner them.
