The story opens with heartwarming home video footage of Kristi Rey joyfully bringing her newborn son, Hunter, back from the hospital. This moment captures the bliss of new parenthood and introduces the main characters as they celebrate their growing family.

A montage showcases Hunter's early months, highlighting the interactions between family members. We meet Dan, Kristi's husband, his daughter Ali, their housekeeper Martine, and their beloved dog Abby during this intimate family period.

One year after Hunter's arrival, the family returns home to find their house seemingly ransacked. Surprisingly, the doors were locked, and only a necklace, a gift from Kristi’s sister, is missing, prompting confusion and concern.

In response to the strange events, Dan installs security cameras throughout their home. This precautionary measure adds to the escalating tension as the family tries to understand the disturbances happening around them.

The family experiences a series of unsettling events on the first night after the cameras are set up. Flickering pool lights, a pool cleaner being pulled from the water, and noisy disturbances finally convince them that something is very wrong.

After a particularly troubling night, Martine tries to perform a cleansing ritual to rid the house of malevolent spirits. Her efforts, however, end up backfiring and result in Dan's decision to fire her, further heightening the tension.

Ali investigates the strange happenings and learns a chilling fact about her family's past: a deal with a demon requires the sacrifice of the family's first-born male. As Hunter is the first male born in generations, fear and anxiety take hold of the family.

Kristi confides in her sister Katie about the supernatural occurrences, but Katie responds with anger and advises Kristi to ignore the signs. This conversation reveals the strained familial ties and a haunting past that they both try to avoid confronting.

The supernatural violence escalates when Kristi is suddenly dragged into the basement by an unseen entity. This horrifying experience leaves her in a dazed state, indicating the demon's growing influence over her mind and body.

Days later, Ali finds Kristi in a disturbing state with a bite mark on her thigh. As they assess the situation, Hunter cries out, signaling the increasing danger they face from the malevolent force looming over them.

Chris and Ali realize they must confront the demon possessing Kristi. They call on Martine for help, who prepares a cross meant to expel the demon, warning them that it must be passed on to a blood relative to ensure it does not return.

In a desperate climax, Dan attempts to remove the demon from Kristi. The struggle takes him to the basement, where the chaotic supernatural events culminate, leading him to burn a photograph of Katie to transfer the demon.

Three weeks later, Katie visits Kristi, having fallen victim to spooky happenings herself. An oblivious Kristi, who has lost memory of the traumatic events, suggests Katie ignore her experiences, unaware of the danger closing in.

Katie returns to her home, where horrifying events from the previous film begin to repeat. The chilling narrative reveals the impact of the demonic presence as it leads to the murder of Micah, Katie's partner.

The film concludes with a distressing scene where Katie brutally attacks Kristi and Hunter. Their tragic demise leaves the audience in horror, while Katie walks away with the now nonverbal Hunter, shrouding their fate in darkness.
