Out of the Furnace

After finishing his shift at the steel mill, Russell Baze encounters his brother Rodney at a horse racing simulcast. During their meeting, Rodney reveals his financial struggles and informs Russell that he has taken a loan from John Petty for betting.

In a show of support, Russell decides to help Rodney by paying off a portion of his debt to John Petty. He promises to cover the rest with his upcoming paycheck, putting pressure on Rodney to avoid further gambling.
