Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams

Fifteen years after Nobunaga's defeat, Hideyoshi Toyotomi consolidates power across Japan and relies on Genma to enforce his rule. The Omen Star appears in the sky, unleashing natural disasters that unsettle the land. Genma begin to gather cherry trees destined for Kyoto as a sign of a growing, ominous order.

Soki, known as the Blue Demon, spends two years raiding transports carrying cherry trees bound for Kyoto. He destroys caravans and camps, burning the supply lines that feed Hideyoshi's expansion. His actions earn him fearsome renown across the battlefield.

On the road toward Kyoto, Soki encounters Akane 'Jubei' Yagyū, a fierce fighter with Oni heritage. They form an uneasy alliance to infiltrate the sites where the trees are prepared for travel to Kyoto. Jubei's mission also includes confronting Munenori Yagyū, the clan traitor.

Jubei fails to defeat Munenori, and Soki meets Ohatsu, his childhood friend. He reveals Hideyoshi's true intent and the Genma connection, but Munenori manipulates Ohatsu into staying by his side, complicating the group's resolve.

The group meets monk Tenkai Nankobo, who has hunted for the one who carries the power of the Black Oni. He wears an Oni gauntlet and will play a pivotal role in identifying the Oni source and guiding Soki's path.

At Mitsunari Ishida's castle, the team faces Sakon Shima before rescuing Spanish missionary Roberto Frois. The mission reveals Luís Fróis's alliance with the Genma, complicating the political landscape of the Genma plot.

Soki begins seeing a mysterious man dressed in white, a foreboding figure who appears at critical moments. The apparition hints at a larger conspiracy behind the Genma manipulation and Hideyoshi's rise.

The group advances toward the Mother Genma Tree in Kyoto, hoping to halt its power. Tenkai urges the team to stay focused, but Jubei and Roberto are captured, forcing Soki to press on alone to confront Hideyoshi.

Ohatsu is revealed to be infected with Genma insects. Arin, a tengu girl, provides a test that unlocks Soki's Onimusha power, enabling him to become the vessel capable of defending humanity against the Genma threat.

Soki and friends rescue Jubei and Roberto and learn Hideyoshi is a puppet controlled by a Genma Triumvirate: Claudius, Rosencrantz, and Ophelia. Roberto destroys the Dark Stone powering Hideyoshi, but a second Dark Stone remains to be found.

Rejoined by Tenkai, the group confronts Lady Yodo and discovers Ophelia has possessed her sister's body. After Ophelia is defeated, they confront Claudius in the Genma lab; Sakon Shima returns to purge Claudius from Mitsunari's body, and a blast obliterates Rosencrantz as Fróis is finally at peace.

With six days to reach Hideyoshi, Minokichi sacrifices himself to enable the group to speed toward Kyoto. The team regroups and presses on despite the mounting danger.

The group reaches Kyoto and confronts Hideyoshi, who wields the Genma Seed. Although Hideyoshi is defeated, Ophelia rips the Seed free, and a resurrected Genma Lord Fortinbras begins to take form, signaling a dire final stage.

After a fierce battle, Fortinbras is dealt a mortal blow by Soki, who then ascends toward the Omen Star. At the last moment, Jubei pleads for him to stop, and he vanishes into the star, dying in the process.

The world returns to peace as cherry blossoms bloom again. Ohatsu marries into another family, Roberto returns home to Spain, Tenkai departs with Arin, and Samanosuke and Ako move on. Jubei visits Soki's grave and resumes her own journey to find meaning beyond the war.
