In the heart of Seoul during winter, we meet struggling short film director Nam Jin-gu, played by Lee Sun-kyun. On his way to a screening of one of his films, he faces persistent nagging from his wife, Jang Su-yang, portrayed by Seo Yeong-hwa, about his drinking habits. This contentious atmosphere leads him to ponder whether she might be involved with another man, a guy named Yeong-su.
In a moment of introspection, he recalls a conversation with his former film professor, Song, played by Moon Sung-keun, who dishearteningly claims that the art of filmmaking is now a relic of the past. Tensions rise during a dinner with film school faculty, where Nam, fueled by alcohol, finds himself in a heated argument with Song over some unsettling rumors he has come to hear.
As the narrative unfolds at a Q&A session for his film, an audience member named Chae-eun, played by Lee Chae-eun, claps back with a pointed question concerning Nam’s past romantic involvement with an actress, suggesting he bears responsibility for the chaos that followed in her life. In a moment of vulnerability, he responds, declaring his decision to abandon directing.
Flashback to a few years prior in the film “King of Kisses,” we see Nam, yearning for relationships, attempt to woo fellow student Jung Ok-heui, played by Jung Yu-mi, at film school. He boldly claims never having dated before, and during a tender moment in a greenhouse, she compliments him, saying he’s a “good kisser.” Despite her lingering feelings for an older man, Nam’s persistence ultimately leads to them becoming intimate and embarking on a romantic journey together.
In “After the Snowstorm,” after a hefty snowfall, only Nam and Jung attend Prof. Song’s class, culminating in an insightful discussion about relationships. Meanwhile, Song has come to a decision—he finds it time to step away from teaching.
Lastly, in “Oki’s Movie,” Jung narrates a poignant short film reflecting on her romantic experiences with two contrasting men: an “older man” and a “younger man.” Her story unfolds during beautiful wintry walks on Mt. Acha, just south of Seoul, intertwining her past relationships with those introspective moments by the scenic landscapes.
