During her quest, O'Dessa meets Euri Dervish, a musician becomes romantically involved with her while working as a sex worker for Neon Dion. Their connection deepens, and they begin to plan an escape to the safer city of Enid.

As O'Dessa and Euri plan their escape, Neon Dion discovers their intentions and threatens them. The danger escalates, showcasing the brutality of Plutonovich's enforcer and the stakes of their rebellion.

In a desperate move to save their dreams, Euri steals enough money from Dion to buy back O'Dessa's guitar. This act of love underscores their bond, but Dion responds with horrific violence.
