Two families bound by a long-standing alliance navigate a maze of pride, secrets, and stubborn rivalries, where affection and duty tug in opposite directions. Jayan [Mukesh] is an unemployed youth who arrives at the home of one clan led by the careful doctor Adithya Varma [Prem Nazir], setting off a chain of misunderstandings that will test everyone’s loyalties. That evening, Jayan is seen at the stadium cheering the girls, and he explains that what looks like his own misbehavior is really the work of a twin brother who supposedly exists but can’t quite be seen—the tale of a doppelgänger who complicates every plan. To keep peace and help his daughter, the family head assigns the “fake” twin to teach Kaveri, a bright young girl whose future matters to both households. Meanwhile, Kuttan Pillai [Innocent], a wily figure from the other clan, schemes to drive a wedge between Adithya Varma and Sasidharan, the stern patriarch of the other family played by Nedumudi Venu. He tries to plant doubts by insinuating that a spouse from one side is involved with someone from the other, driving the two houses toward suspicion and conflict. To complicate matters further, Kuttan Pillai’s son Velu [Kuthiravattam Pappu] overhears the schemes and is quietly paid to keep quiet, a detail that will trigger a dangerous chain reaction when the truth starts to surface.
Love blossoms, however, between Kaveri and Balu [Shankar], Sasidharan’s younger brother, adding a human note to the feud. The lovers’ plan to elope is cunning, with a ledger of small deceptions and a transfer of responsibilities that only makes the two families more wary. In a final, decisive gesture, Adithya Varma and Sasidharan expose the manipulations at the heart of Kuttan Pillai’s scheme by handing over Kuttan Pillai’s clothes to the police, signaling a turning point in the feud and a chance for healing.
