The Russell family relocates to a new house, and Alan buys an antique mirror to decorate his office. Soon, the mirror exerts a strange pull on the household, unsettling Marie, Tim, and Kaylie. Unseen by them, the artifact begins to twist their reality and erode their safety.

In 2002, Marie is haunted by visions of her own body decaying, and Alan is enthralled by a ghostly woman named Marisol Chavez who has mirrors for eyes. The mirror's influence starts to seep into their relationship and daily life. The house grows ominous as the haunting intensifies.

Over time, all houseplants die and the family dog Mason disappears after being shut in the office with the mirror. The atmosphere thickens with paranoia and fear as the adults lose grip on reality. The mirror seems to feast on their dread.

Kaylie witnesses Alan with Marisol and warns Marie, triggering a heated confrontation. The couple's fragile balance shatters as the mirror amplifies their distrust and anger. The children sense the danger that now surrounds them.

Marie descends into madness and tries to kill her children. Alan locks her away, leaving the family isolated in a house that feels like a trap. Food runs low and the tension peaks as the mirror tightens its hold.

When Kaylie and Tim seek help from neighbors, they are dismissed and their calls are eerily answered by a single, unsettling man. The pattern hints at a larger, malevolent force connected to the mirror. The children fight to secure any outside aid while the house tightens around them.

One night, Alan unchains Marie and both parents attack the children. Marie regains a moment of lucidity and is shot dead by Alan. Desperately, Kaylie and Tim try to destroy the mirror, but its illusion makes them strike the wall instead of the glass.

Alan, in a rare moment of clarity, forces Tim to pull the trigger and kill him, cracking the corner of the mirror. Before dying, he begs the children to run as Marisol and other victims appear as ghosts. The police arrive soon after, ending the immediate danger.

The police arrest Tim as the house is left haunted by ghosts and unanswered questions. The siblings vow to reunite as adults to destroy the mirror, a pact born from their shared trauma. The family’s tragedy tests the limits of their memories and their belief in the supernatural.

In 2013, Kaylie, now an employee at an auction house, obtains the mirror and brings it back to the family home. She installs it in a room filled with surveillance cameras and a kill switch aimed at smashing the glass. Her goal is to document the mirror's powers and prove Tim's innocence before destroying it.

Tim is discharged from a psychiatric hospital, initially believing there were no real supernatural events. Kaylie remains convinced of the mirror's power and pursues her plan to expose it. The siblings inhabit the same house but pursue different beliefs.

Plants wilt and the camera footage shows actions they do not remember, confirming the mirror's manipulation. Kaylie confronts a hallucinatory version of her mother and stabs it, only to realize she has stabbed her fiancé Michael Dumont. The 9-1-1 call proves useless, and the siblings confront their darker selves as doppelgängers appear.

Tim finally releases the anchor, unaware that Kaylie stands before the mirror. He inadvertently kills Kaylie instead of destroying the mirror. The police arrive as the adult Tim remains hysterical, insisting the mirror is to blame.

As Tim is taken away, his adult self sees Kaylie's ghost standing in the house, watching from the doorway. The film closes on the haunting echo of the two timelines, with the mirror's power unresolved.
