On New Year's Eve at Lord's Academy in Ooty, Saira Elizabeth, Sridevi Swaminathan and Pooja Krishna plant a sapling to symbolize their friendship after graduation. The moment marks a vow to stay connected through whatever the future holds. The sapling will grow into a tree they name Venus.

Three years later, in 12th grade, the sapling has grown into a sturdy tree they call Venus. The trio's bond remains despite their different family backgrounds: Saira from a troubled home, Sridevi from a loving Brahmin family, and Pooja as the ambitious school head girl. They lean on each other as life changes around them.

Sridevi falls in love with a schoolmate, Sooraj Menon. Saira and Pooja initially hesitate but are convinced of his sincerity and approve the relationship. The trio's dynamic shifts as romance enters their circle.

During an excursion to Goa, Sridevi and Sooraj become intimate and Sridevi becomes pregnant. They decide to keep the news secret to spare her parents and Sooraj from trouble. The moment triggers fear and secrecy among the friends.

At Pooja's suggestion they plan an abortion at a hospital near their school. To ensure the procedure goes ahead, Saira convinces the gynecologist with a fabricated story that Sridevi had been raped. The lie sets a dangerous course for what follows.

During the abortion, Sridevi suffers excessive blood loss and dies. Saira and Pooja flee the hospital in terror, overwhelmed by the consequences of their deception. The loss shocks the school and begins a chain of cover-ups and blame.

The next day, the principal's office is filled with tension as the police arrive and the gynecologist identifies Saira. Saira confesses that the rape story was a lie, but she cannot identify the father. Pooja distances herself, trying to shield her own future.

The principal pushes to avoid a formal case and publicly blames Saira for Sridevi's death, claiming she died in a car accident. Sooraj learns the truth about what happened to Sridevi, while Pooja's sense of safety collapses and she sinks under the pressure. The school and community react with shock and rumor.

Pooja's mental stability deteriorates under the pressure of loss and betrayal. Saira's father, Brigadier Alexander, arrives and takes her to New Delhi for further studies, offering a path to move on with life. The two families begin to drift in different directions.

Six years pass and Saira graduates from medical college. At her ceremony, a letter addressed to Sridevi reveals that Pooja has spent six years in a mental asylum, and mentions that their classmate Feroz has become a famous music director. The news reframes the past for the surviving friends.

Saira returns to Ooty with her father to meet Pooja, who has been cared for by her mother with Sooraj's support. The two friends glimpse what remains of their old bond and begin to hope for reconciliation. The town holds its memories as the past starts to resurface.

That very night, Saira and Pooja cycle back to their school to see Venus, the tree they planted years ago. They are joined again by the shared history and the laughter of their youth. Sridevi's spirit is seen watching over them as the girls confront their memories with both sorrow and forgiveness.
