Jack Bishop appears to be living the ideal life that many men dream of—blessed with a stunning wife and a cheerful, healthy daughter named Toby. He has the gratifying career he always aspired to and a loving home nestled in a tranquil Texas border town. However, this seemingly perfect existence is meticulously constructed; lurking beneath the surface lies a haunting secret that Jack conceals not only from his family but also from himself.

When tragedy strikes and Toby goes missing, Jack realizes that his past has come back to haunt him, forcing him to confront the unsettling truths he has long buried. In his desperate quest to find her, he must rekindle his connection to La Santa Muerte, a figure representing the protectors of sinners and worshippers of the dead.

Joined by the inexperienced newly-appointed sheriff and a couple of cautious FBI agents, Jack’s search leads him down a treacherous path into his own history.
