Nine Queens

The film opens in a convenience store where Juan, a crafty con artist, successfully tricks the unsuspecting cashier into giving him extra money. This event showcases Juan's skills in deception but foreshadows his impending downfall.

Juan learns of Sandler, a former associate of Marcos, who seeks help selling counterfeit rare stamps called 'The Nine Queens.' This opportunity presents a chance for both con artists to make a significant profit.

Sandler reaches out through Valeria, Marcos's sister, creating tension due to their fraught family history. Their past disputes regarding their grandfather's inheritance add layers to the complexity of their relationship.

The team discovers a potential buyer, Gandolfo, a wealthy Spaniard who is under threat of deportation. Marcos believes he can successfully sell the counterfeit stamps to Gandolfo, leading to grand expectations.

Marcos calculates a profit margin of 90% from the sale, believing it to be a surefire scheme. However, Juan, desperate to help his father, pleads for a small cut, which marks his deeper involvement in the con.

As tensions rise, the counterfeit stamps are stolen by motorcycle thieves, which squashes their plans. The unforeseen loss exacerbates the precarious situation and forces Marcos to take desperate measures.

In a bid to salvage the deal, Marcos approaches Sandler's sister to acquire the original stamps for $250,000, daringly asking Juan to chip in $50,000 of his savings. Juan, blinded by desperation to aid his father, reluctantly agrees.

Upon arriving at Gandolfo's hotel, an unexpected condition is thrown into the mix; Gandolfo demands to sleep with Valeria as part of the deal. This pivotal moment reveals the lengths to which all parties are willing to go for profit.

Valeria, in a surprising twist, demands that Marcos confess his prior misdeeds before she will agree to any involvement with Gandolfo. This moment reveals the ongoing family tensions and emotional stakes.

The deal concludes with Gandolfo making a payment via a cashier's check, which tragically becomes worthless following a bank crash the next day. This twist marks a major setback for the con artists.

In a shocking turn of events, Juan reveals that he has been orchestrating a con against Marcos all along, planning to turn the tables. This revelation leads to the culmination of the convoluted plot and the extraction of $200,000 from Marcos.
