Former OSS operative Alan Holiday, now in London, is approached on New Year’s Eve by Catherine Carrel, who says she knows his wartime comrade Jules Lemoine. Lemoine sends Holiday to Paris on a secret mission, giving him a real tape reel while keeping a fake one to mislead enemy agents. After Lemoine is killed and the decoy stolen, Holiday pretends to be photographer Louis Vernay’s assistant, taking three models with him to keep up the ruse.
