The film begins with Leo (Donald Faison) narrating his story, reflecting on how he started as just a deliveryman before finding himself wrapped up in a chaotic situation.
Two days ago, a character named Rhino (Cisco Reyes) is on a phone call with a girl named Chita while heading to meet with a drug kingpin, Bodega Diablo. Chita gives instructions for a package delivery, and Rhino reassures her that she should sign for it. Upon arriving at Bodega’s place, Rhino expresses concern over their current courier issues, recalling a recent setback with a man named Carlos. When Rhino reveals he has found Carlos hiding out in his trunk begging for a second chance, Bodega’s skepticism leads him to slam the trunk shut on Carlos’s face.
Yesterday, in Philadelphia, three robbers—Brody (Mike Epps), Guch (Wood Harris), and Hassie—are caught in the aftermath of a botched heist where they only managed to steal surveillance tapes from a bank, much to their dismay. Their planning goes awry as Brody mistakenly grabs the tapes instead of cash, leading to a comedic chase from security while contemplating their living situation in a dilapidated apartment.
Meanwhile, Leo, oblivious to the chaos surrounding him, meets his former girlfriend Ivy (Lauren London). Despite their breakup, he wishes for reconciliation, only to find himself in trouble for smoking weed while on the job. His boss, Ms. Jackson, reprimands him, urging him to emulate Eric (Mos Def), the top employee. However, Leo’s resolve quickly falters as he lights up again during his delivery tasks.
At the same time, Guch and Brody uncover a hidden stash of cocaine that they mistakenly think is a windfall. The surprise discovery sets off a series of risky decisions as they contemplate selling it to Brody’s cousin, Shavoo, who operates in the drug trade. This leads to increasingly desperate encounters with the actual owners of the cocaine—Jesus and Chita—who are determined to reclaim what was stolen from them.
Tensions escalate as Jesus confronts Leo in a desperate hunt for the package, recalling the violent past that brought him into Bodega’s world. As chaos reigns, each character must navigate a treacherous path filled with double-crosses and betrayals. In a surprising twist, Leo’s mishaps lead him directly into a showdown involving Guch, Brody, and Shavoo—a chaotic gun battle ensues where no one escapes unscathed.
As Leo attempts to unearth a sizable amount of money amidst the escalating conflict, he is forced to confront his choices. In the cathartic climax, characters grapple with their fates, transformed by the pandemonium surrounding them. Ultimately, Leo, clutching the cash he finds amidst the aftermath of violence, narrowly escapes with his life, while Chita tries to look after Jesus, realizing the unexpected consequences of their entangled lives.
This dramatic tale of survival and the moral implications of their decisions paints a vivid picture of the consequences of their lifestyle in a narrative filled with unexpected humor and poignant moments.
