Sara Mohammed, Anaswara Rajan, a blind young woman, is raped while she is alone at home. The police struggle to identify the offender because Sara’s blindness makes the trauma hard to prove. In a deeply personal act of resilience, Sara sculpts a statue of her attacker, and investigators, drawn to the uncanny likeness, arrest Michael—the son of a Mumbai-based, wealthy businessman. Michael’s parents hire Advocate Siddique to defend him, and the courtroom battle begins in earnest. With a Public Prosecutor who proves unreliable, coupled with Rajasekharan’s craft in twisting evidence, Michael is granted bail, a shocking turn in a case defined by its severity. CI Paul Varghese, the investigating officer, recommends Vijayamohan as the Special Public Prosecutor, since the reputation of Rajasekharan makes other lawyers hesitate to take the case. The role of Vijayamohan is portrayed by Mohanlal. Vijayamohan, a former lawyer who had stepped away from practice after a fallout years earlier, is initially reluctant to re-enter the fray. He had connections to Sara’s world through his daughter Poornima, and the history with Rajasekharan had left him wary of the courtroom battlefield. The backstory deepens as it’s revealed that Vijayamohan’s debarment came after a pivotal clash with Rajasekharan, a detail that underscores the high stakes and personal entanglements at play. The defense’s path grows rocky when Vinod, Michael’s neighbor and friend who stayed with Michael on the day of the incident, changes his account, creating confusion about the sequence of events. The investigation is further strained by a lack of semen evidence and the absence of a solid eyewitness, making it appear, at first, to be merely a matter of doubt rather than guilt.

Rajashekaran asserts that Michael was with friends at a party away from the crime scene, and CCTV footage appears to back the alibi. Yet Vijayamohan uncovers a troubling truth: the footage had been edited to mislead the court, casting doubt on the defense’s control of the truth. The court, seeking a creative means to assess Sara’s proof beyond conventional testimony, allows her to sculpt a face in the courtroom using a random person as the subject, a move that stirs debate about art, memory, and evidence. Poornima objects, arguing it’s a distraction, but the judge permits it as a historic moment for the court to witness.

Sara rises to the challenge, and with careful, deliberate precision, she creates a sculpture that mirrors Rajasekharan with startling accuracy. The room falls into stunned silence as the likeness is revealed, delivering a shocking turn of justice. Michael is found guilty of the assault and is sentenced to life imprisonment, along with a monetary fine.
