Ne Zha and Ao Bing experience a fateful event when they are struck by heavenly lightning. This catastrophic event results in the destruction of their physical bodies, leaving their souls in peril.

Master Taiyi Zhenren utilizes his Seven-colored Sacred Lotus to regenerate the bodies of Ne Zha and Ao Bing. Although their new forms are fragile, he ensures that their souls do not dissipate into the ether.

Believing his son Ao Bing is dead, Ao Guang, the Dragon King of the East Sea, unleashes his fury on the town, releasing imprisoned monsters from under his palace. This reckless attack provokes chaos and destruction.

During a fierce defense of Chentang Pass, Ao Bing puts forth immense effort, resulting in the disintegration of his newly regenerated body. This turns the tide of the conflict, putting them in dire straits.

A ceasefire is negotiated, where Ao Bing and Ne Zha must share Ne Zha's body for seven days. Their mission is to complete three trials set by Immortal Wuliang to earn a potion that will restore the Sacred Lotus.

Ne Zha, taking a sleeping pill to mask his demonic identity, allows Ao Bing to take control of their shared body. Together, they prevail in the first two trials against a bandit clan and a demon-training master.

Ao Guang assigns Master Shen Gongbao to oversee Chentang Pass and the other Dragon Kings. In a tragic encounter, he reunites with his brother Shen Xiaobao, who shares the grim fate of their family due to the sect.

Shen Xiaobao is mortally wounded while attempting to defend their father during Ne Zha's second trial. His death profoundly affects Shen Gongbao and intensifies the conflict against the heavenly sect.

As tensions rise, Chentang Pass faces a brutal massacre at the hands of the dragons. Ne Zha, fueled by rage and despair, resolves to complete the third trial without Ao Bing's assistance.

Completing the third trial, Ne Zha becomes an xian and secures the potion needed to restore Ao Bing's body. This event marks a significant turning point in their struggle against the forces of the heavenly sect.

In a surprising turn, Ne Zha abandons Ao Bing and Master Taiyi to join Wuliang's forces. They trap the dragons in the sect's cauldron, seeking vengeance for the devastation of Chentang Pass.

As the battle intensifies, Ne Zha's mother dies in his arms, catalyzing his transformation. Overcome with fury, he harnesses the cauldron's samadhi fire, solidifying his resolve.

Empowered by anger and determination, Ne Zha and Ao Bing, alongside the dragons and other prisoners, manage to break free from the cauldron. This act propels them to unite against the heavenly forces.

In the aftermath of the epic confrontation, Ao Guang leads the remaining dragons to seek refuge in the depths of the sea. However, Ao Bing chooses to remain on land to expose Wuliang's true nature.

In a post-credits scene, Wuliang visits a secret prison to negotiate with the captured Shen Gongbao and his father. Their fateful encounter leaves them trapped for a decade, suggesting further intrigues ahead.
