Nadiya Ke Paar

A farmer from eastern Uttar Pradesh falls ill and is treated by a Vaidya who travels from a village across the river. After the treatment, the farmer regains strength and his condition improves. The Vaidya's visit sets in motion a marriage proposal that binds the two families.

The Vaidya, a father of two daughters, asks for Omkar to marry his elder daughter Roopa. The farmer readily agrees to the arrangement to honor the Vaidya and secure the family’s future. This demand links the fates of the two households and starts the chain of marriages that follows.

The marriage between Omkar and Roopa takes place, and the household fills with joy as Roopa arrives. The ceremony cements the couple in the family, changing the domestic dynamic. Roopa settles into her husband’s home amid celebration.

Roopa becomes pregnant and later gives birth to a baby boy. With no other woman in the house, Roopa asks Omkar to call Gunja to help with household chores. Gunja's arrival brings a new presence into the family and sets the stage for evolving relationships.

Chandan travels to Gunja's village to bring her home and join the household. During the journey, they sing happy songs and grow closer, and Gunja begins bonding with the family and taking on responsibilities around the house. A gentle affection starts to blossom between them.

Chandan and Gunja's bond deepens as they spend time together in the household. They begin to fall in love despite the complexities of being in-law relatives. Their feelings remain largely hidden, shaping the tensions to come.

Gunja leaves for her home with a heavy heart, and Chandan continues to find excuses to visit her. She asks for a promise from him that he will come to her as a groom, not merely as a relative. The close proximity and unspoken love create a delicate, hopeful tension.

Roopa visits her parents and learns of the love between Gunja and Chandan. She promises to discuss the matter with everyone, but dies in an accident before she can do so. Her death leaves the family to confront the consequences of shifting loyalties.

With time passing and Omkar's life in despair, the elder men propose marrying Gunja to Omkar to bring happiness and provide a mother for his child. Chandan's silence about his love leaves Gunja and the rest of the family in a state of anticipation. The plan sets up a clash of loyalties that drives the later events.

On the wedding day, Gunja first believes her father arranged a marriage with Chandan and feels happiness. When she discovers Omkar dressed as the groom, she assumes Chandan has betrayed her and agrees to marry Omkar to protect her family's reputation. The conflicting emotions set the scene for a dramatic revelation.

Chandan steps forward to tell Gunja that he sacrificed his own love for his brother's happiness. He explains that his decision was for Omkar's well-being and the family's honor. Gunja, hearing this, begins to reconsider her stance.

Omkar enters the room, hears the truth, and disapproves the idea of sacrificing Gunja's happiness for his own. He informs the family of the lovers and urges a more compassionate solution. In the end, Gunja and Chandan marry with the blessing of all families.
