Mr. Bharath

On her deathbed, Shanti reveals to Bharath the true story of his father, Gopinath, and the painful past they endured. A suave, educated Gopinath arrives in the rural village to engineer a construction project. He slowly wins Shanti, who works as a labourer, by feigning innocence and charm. Over time, he exploits her trust before he finally departs after finishing the project.

Shanti discovers she is pregnant as Gopinath prepares to depart. Villagers inform her that he is likely to marry a wealthy woman in Madras, not her. She travels to Madras using the visiting card to confront him, seeking proof and accountability.

Gopinath refuses to acknowledge the child, arguing there is no proof of intimacy and labeling Shanti a gold-digger. He remains cold and denies any responsibility, while Shanti grows furious. She vows that one day her child will confront him and reveal the truth.
