Monstrous

The ending of “Monstrous” reveals that Cody, the boy we’ve been seeing, is actually a ghost—his death from a drowning accident a year earlier has been a source of guilt and trauma for Laura. The visions of Cody and the “pretty lady from the pond” are manifestations of her psychic mind, which creates these spirits to cope with her grief.
