Before dying, Surjit Singh, a U.S.-based widower, tells his doctor son Varyam that he has a step‑mother Santoh and a daughter Rani in Punjab, whom he never supported. He asks Varyam to bring his ashes for immersion there. Varyam travels, learns Punjabi from Preet, meets Santoh and Rani incognito, and his efforts to reconcile are mistaken for a marriage proposal, while police reopen a missing‑person case involving Kirpal.
