On a quiet night in the town of Killendoorn, a stray cat named Minoes drinks a mysterious liquid and wakes up as a human woman. She soon meets a shy journalist named Tibbe de Vries who works for the town’s newspaper. Tibbe is earnest but struggles to craft strong articles, and at first he doubts that Minoes is truly a cat in human form. Yet Minoes knows all kinds of quirky town news from the cats, and her information becomes a surprising boon for Tibbe’s reporting.

To secure food and shelter, Tibbe allows Minoes to quietly assist with his work, guiding him to interesting stories. With the help of the Cat Press Service and the steady stream of feline-told tips, Tibbe grows from a cautious writer into a journalist whose articles stand out for their charm and insight. The partnership is clever and endearing, blending human curiosity with animal wit to uncover the everyday drama of Killendoorn.

But there is one article Tibbe refuses to publish: a profile of the wealthy Mr. Ellemeet, the chemical factory owner who people in town tout as respectable and an animal lover. Behind the polished façade, cats—and the instinctive distrust they feel—see something darker. This tension becomes the crux of the story, as Minoes aims to reveal the truth without tearing Tibbe apart.

Eventually Minoes persuades Tibbe to publish the incriminating piece, and the town turns its back on him. He loses his job and is nearly evicted from his apartment, a heavy consequence for a man who just wanted to tell the truth. Yet the pair’s bond grows stronger through the ordeal, and Minoes helps orchestrate a sting to expose the villainous Ellemeet.
