The film opens with a glimpse into the Federal Bureau of Investigation, introducing us to a team of top-tier trainee profilers. Under the mentorship of expert Jake Harris, they engage in complex reenactments of criminal investigations, utilizing elaborate sets and props to enhance their learning experience.

As the training sessions progress, the bond among the trainees—Bobby, Vince, Nicole, Sara, Rafe, and Lucas—grows stronger. Unbeknownst to them, J.D.'s unrequited feelings for Nicole add an intriguing layer to their team dynamics, complicating their relationships.

Tensions rise when Vince discovers that he and Sara have not earned the coveted title of profiler after their evaluations conclude. This disheartening revelation drives the team into a state of urgency as they prepare for their final training exercise on a remote island.

The Mindhunters travel to a secluded island off the North Carolina coast, intended to enhance their investigative skills. Once a Navy training ground, the island is equipped with unique training setups, giving the trainees an immersive experience in their final exercise.

During their preparations, the team is joined by Gabe, an unexpected visitor who is secretly a skilled profiler himself. As the trainees acclimatize to the setup, Gabe observes Harris's unconventional methods, adding an element of unpredictability to the exercise.

The following morning, the Mindhunters stumble upon a shocking discovery—a dead cat clutching a broken pocket watch. This eerie find sets in motion a disturbing series of events that will change the course of their training exercise forever.

In a harrowing turn of events, J.D. suffers a fatal accident, frozen in liquid nitrogen disguised as helium. The shocking death leaves the team shaken, forcing them to realize that their training has taken a dark and unanticipated twist.

Realizing they are in grave danger, the Mindhunters rush to the dock, only to find their escape boat engulfed in flames. With no way off the island, they begin piecing together the clues surrounding J.D.'s death and the broken clocks found at each scene.

As they investigate further, the Mindhunters uncover a chilling pattern: their unseen assailant is targeting them based on the times indicated by broken clocks. They realize they are entangled in a deadly game orchestrated by a real serial killer, concealed among them.

Tensions escalate as suspicion shifts initially to Gabe after Lucas discovers incriminating maps and documents in his belongings. However, Lucas then suffers an attack after unknowingly ingesting drugged coffee, which only heightens the group's paranoia.

Upon regaining consciousness, the trainees face another horrifying scene—the lifeless body of Rafe, grotesquely displayed with his head severed. The gruesome nature of his death amplifies their mistrust and fear, with Gabe still under suspicion.

As paranoia mounts, Sara begins to suspect she is being framed by the killer. In an attempt to escape the mounting tension, she inadvertently finds herself targeted next, poisoned by a cigarette laced with corrosive acid—another carefully planned attack.

With suspicions now directed toward Harris, Sara, Gabe, and Lucas embark on a quest to capture him. Their search leads them to uncover a nightmarish scene—Harris and two other agents dead, posed grotesquely in a hidden storefront while seemingly manipulated by the killer.

As the remaining Mindhunters turn on one another, the violence escalates dramatically. Lucas is shot during the chaos, while Vince finds himself trapped in a freezer, ultimately meeting a tragic fate when his gun backfires in the frenzy.

In a climactic underwater struggle, Sara battles Lucas in a fight for survival. Ultimately, she prevails, ending his life with a gunshot as dawn breaks over the island, marking the dawn of a bittersweet resolution to their ordeal.
