Grace lies dying on a hospital bed set up on the second floor of her farmhouse. The doctor pleads to administer drugs to ease her suffering and hands a bag to George containing the instructions and the drug. George reluctantly takes the bag, signaling a pivotal choice about Grace's fate.

George tells his two sons Ronnie and TJ that he has arranged to inherit Grace's fortune when she dies. He explains that the money will eventually be his children's, setting the stage for future conflict. The notion of control over Grace's wealth creates tension among the family.

The film rewinds to an earlier moment where George tries to burn the drug but a masked man grabs it instead. The tension over the drug intensifies as the night unfolds.

Later that night, a masked man attempts to administer the drug to Grace but finds George sleeping in a chair. A scuffle ensues and they tumble down the stairs, ending with George's head striking the bottom and killing him.

TJ wakes up and discovers a videotape labeled Grace's Church along with a box of news clippings. The footage hints at Grace's church and hints that her ex-husband's death may be connected to their community.

A masked man appears and takes TJ out of the house, removing him from the immediate danger but leaving his fate unresolved.

Brad wakes Travis to warn of intruders and they go to investigate. Melissa screams as the group is overwhelmed, and Brad finally decides to act in defense of Grace.

Brad administers the drug to Grace, insisting he must do it now. The film reveals that the so-called drug is a medicine, not a means to end her life, and the intruders are Grace's church members.
