Byeong-soo, having extinguished the flames of his troubled youth, leads a peaceful life as a veterinarian. His days are filled with caring for stray animals, though dark remnants of his past linger in his mind.

Despite his peaceful existence, Byeong-soo grapples with a chilling belief that certain individuals are fated for extinction. This unsettling obsession spirals into secretive killings, where he buries his victims in a concealed bamboo grove.

Fate changes drastically when Byeong-soo is involved in a devastating car accident that leads to a degenerative form of Alzheimer's disease. This illness blurs his reality, making it hard for him to remember even the simplest details of his life.
