Mazinger Z vs The Great Dark General

Dr. Hell has been defeated in the final battle, and the immediate threat to Japan and the world seems ended for now. Kouji Kabuto and his friends finally get a chance to rest. Yet both friends know the peace is fragile as a new, darker menace waits in the wings.

During a scorching day on the beach, Boss, Mucha and Nuke witness a disturbing vision of a prophet. He proclaims the end of humanity, the dead will rise, and the Great General of Darkness will attack from air, sea, and land. The only defense is Mazinger, the iron fortress.

Koji and Sayaka dismiss the prophecy as heat-dehydrated fever, but radio reports interrupt their music. Monsters attack major cities: London with Aquatic Beast Arimoth, Moscow with Reptile Beast Gurosten, Paris with Superhuman Beast Arsoth, New York with Aerial Beast Orbee. The threat then turns toward Japan.

Archduke Gorgon, having outlived Dr. Hell and his servants, rejoices at the attacks and orders Mikene's Warrior Beasts to strike Tokyo. Dante, Saraga, Birdian, Raigon, Mommothos, and Suruba emerge from the sea to head for the Japanese capital. These are revealed to be Mikene Empire's Warrior Beasts.

In the Photonic Research Institute, Koji gains control of Mazinger and launches toward Tokyo. Diana A and Boss Borot watch the monsters fly toward the city. The oncoming threat is unlike anything Mazinger has faced before.

Koji locates Suruba in the sea and engages her, managing to defeat the beast. Mazinger returns to the city under heavy fire. The city braces for the worst.

Next, Saraga is slain by Mazinger with its dual heads beheaded. Mazinger takes heavy damage from Saraga's acid venom, injuring its wings. Koji fights through the pain to protect the city.

Dante's tornado breaches the Super Barrier, leaving Diana and Boss unable to hold the fortress. The Institute is ripped apart; evacuation begins for Shiro and Dr. Yumi. A ceiling collapse crushes Shiro, leaving him unconscious.

Raigon and Birdian overwhelm Mazinger, driving Koji to the brink. Sayaka's voice on the speaker reminds Koji that Shiro's life is in danger. The danger tightens as the defenders' morale is tested.

Koji volunteers for a blood transfusion to save Shiro, despite Yumi's reservations. The operation takes place as Mazinger is in need of repairs and Koji fights fatigue. Hope hinges on the exchange of blood.

The lights fail again and the Prophet speaks of the Great General of Darkness and the Seven Mikene Armies. Dr. Yumi recalls notes left by Koji's grandfather, suggesting the answer lies there. The team steels themselves for the looming onslaught.

The Prophet is revealed as Kenzo Kabuto, Koji's father, who commands Tetsuya Tsurugi to deploy Great Mazinger. Great Mazinger joins Mazinger in the battle, and together they destroy Mikene's beasts one by one: Barungga, Baruman, Warmdam, Orbee, Arimos, Gurosten, Arsoth, and finally Juuma. The Dark General vows to return as the flaming battle wanes.

Tetsuya explains that Great Mazinger is Z's brother, conceived to defeat the Seven Mikene Armies. After this revelation, Tetsuya departs, leaving Koji pondering who built such a robot.

Koji, tearful yet determined, resolves to do whatever it takes for the last mission. In the Jet Pilder hangar, Sayaka gives him Shiro's birthday gift to accompany him. He steps toward the ominous horizon ready to fight.

Shiro regains consciousness after the transfusion, a glimmer of recovery in a world still under threat. The Dark General's vow to return lingers in the air, signaling that the battle is far from over and the world remains on the edge of darkness.
