Ultraman Mebius & Ultra Brothers

Twenty years ago, the four Ultra brothers, Ultraman, Seven, Jack, and Ace, used all their energy to seal Yapool and U-Killersaurus in Kobe's sea. This victory drained them so severely that they lost their transformation abilities and became bound to human hosts. They took jobs around Kobe while waiting and hoping their bonds to humanity would hold until aid arrived.

The prologue establishes their weakened state immediately after sealing Yapool.

Mebius Infinity is an extremely powerful fused form that Mirai achieves when all four Ultra brothers combine their remaining energy with his. This transformation only becomes possible when Commander Zoffy and Ultraman Taro descend to restore the brothers' energy. The Mebius Infinity form is powerful enough to save Aya from being trapped inside U-Killersaurus Neo's crystal forehead and to destroy the monster completely.

The Ultra brothers' fusion is foreshadowed when they give Mirai guidance throughout the film.

Three months before Mirai arrives in Kobe, Takato and his pet dog Art were attacked by the monster Kelbim. The traumatic incident left Takato scarred, both physically and emotionally, causing him to become wary of Ultramen. This fear represents a personal stakes subplot that Mirai must address to help restore the boy's faith.

Aya mentions the Kelbim attack early in the story, establishing Takato's trauma as a recurring theme.

After defeating Zarab, Mirai is captured when Alien Guts and Alien Nackle trap the GUYS team in crystalline crosses that siphon their energy. This harvested energy is deliberately used to revive Yapool and his ally U-Killersaurus Neo from their sealed state in Kobe's sea. The aliens exploit the Ultra brothers' weakened condition to break the seal.

The aliens' plan is hinted at when they first arrive, discussing the liberation of Yapool.

After sealing Yapool, the Ultra brothers lost their transformation abilities and became bound to human hosts. They could not return to the Land of Light in their weakened state. Instead, they took civilian jobs around Kobe while waiting for Yapool's inevitable return, keeping watch over the seal from within the city.

The prologue shows them taking jobs in Kobe immediately after the sealing battle.

Alien Zarab infiltrates Aya's circle to get close to Mirai. He steals Aya's form, poisons Mirai with a fake drink, and then transforms into an impostor Ultraman Mebius to sow chaos across Kobe. This deception is part of the Alien Union's strategy to weaken the heroes from within before launching their main assault.

Zarab's infiltration follows immediately after Temperor's defeat, showing the aliens adapting their strategy.

Zoffy and Taro's arrival is delayed because the Ultra brothers were weakened and cut off from communication after being trapped in crystalline crosses. Once the heroes break free and the situation on Earth reaches its crisis point, they descend to provide crucial energy restoration to the Ultra brothers, enabling the final transformation into Mebius Infinity.

The Ultra brothers mention hoping aid will arrive, setting up their eventual intervention.

Mirai Hibino is a different Ultra being, he is Ultraman Mebius himself, not one of the four original Ultra brothers. Unlike the weakened Ultraman, Seven, Jack, and Ace who lost their transformation abilities, Mebius retains his power and can transform into his giant form to fight the alien threats.

The film establishes early on that Mirai is a separate Ultra entity assigned to Earth.

During the final battle, U-Killersaurus Neo captures Aya Jinguji and traps her within the crystal embedded in its forehead. This creates a moral dilemma for Mirai, he must defeat the monster while also saving Aya. This is what necessitates his transformation into Mebius Infinity, the only form powerful enough to accomplish both goals simultaneously.

The crystal forehead of the monster is visible in earlier shots, hinting at this capture.

The Alien Union, Zarab, Guts, Nackle, and Temperor, attack in sequence rather than as a unified force. This tactical error works to the heroes' advantage, as each alien is defeated individually before they can combine their full strength. The sequential attacks give Mirai and the GUYS team time to recover and regroup between confrontations.

Temperor attacks first and is defeated, then Zarab makes his move, this pattern is established early.

When Mebius Infinity destroys U-Killersaurus Neo, Yapool vanishes along with the creature, defeated and powerless. With Yapool's monstrous ally destroyed, Yapool loses his connection to the physical world and disappears completely. The threat of Yapool and his allies is permanently ended.

The film establishes Yapool and U-Killersaurus as connected entities from the beginning.

After initially losing faith in Ultramen following his Kelbim trauma, Takato's belief is rekindled when he witnesses Mirai's heroic actions and sees the Ultra brothers' genuine concern for humanity. Inspired by their example and his restored faith, Takato decides he wants to become a GUYS member himself, promising to join when he grows up.

Mirai's patient bonding with Takato throughout the film builds toward this moment.
