Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials

A young boy named Thomas is taken in by Ava Paige and her WCKD organization after his mother leaves him for his safety. This marks the beginning of Thomas's journey in a world ravaged by the Flare virus.

Years later, a teenage Thomas reunites with Teresa and friends Newt, Minho, Frypan, and Winston at a facility managed by Mr. Janson. They believe this place is a refuge from the dangers of WCKD and the infected called Cranks.

Curious about their new haven, Thomas discovers hidden truths with the help of Aris Jones, revealing that WCKD is still very much in control. They learn that Mr. Janson is performing cruel experiments on Immunes under WCKD's orders.

In a desperate bid for freedom, Thomas and his friends escape the facility with Aris. Mr. Janson desperately sends WCKD troops after them, leading them into the treacherous Scorch, a barren wasteland.

As they traverse the Scorch, the group encounters a desolate marketplace and is confronted by horrifying Cranks. In this tragic turn, Winston becomes infected, forcing the group to leave him behind.

During their journey, Thomas sees signs of civilization on the horizon and they rush to seek refuge in an abandoned facility amid an approaching thunderstorm. They find Minho there, alive but in peril from chained Cranks.

Inside the abandoned facility, they meet Brenda and Jorge, who lead a group of survivors. Despite the dangers of Cranks, they agree to help Thomas and his friends on their quest to locate The Right Arm.

Just as they begin to make plans, Janson and WCKD storm the facility. Jorge uses explosives to create chaos, facilitating most of the group's escape, but in the mayhem, Brenda gets infected.

As they regroup, Thomas is haunted by memories of his time at WCKD with Teresa. These memories push him to confront his past while they look for a way to survive this new threat.

The group finally reaches the refuge of The Right Arm, where they meet Vince, who leads their operations. However, Brenda's condition worsens, putting the group's unity at risk.

Mary Cooper, a former WCKD scientist, steps in to save Brenda by using a special enzyme from Immunes. She reveals her departure from WCKD stemmed from disagreements with Ava regarding creating a cure.

Teresa betrays Thomas and the group by revealing their location to WCKD. This act leads to an ambush by WCKD forces, causing chaos as the survivors scramble to defend themselves.

In a fierce confrontation, Janson fatally shoots Mary during the fight. Despite their efforts, Ava and Janson manage to retreat, taking captives with them as the group suffers significant losses.

With only a handful of survivors left, Thomas devises a daring plan to infiltrate WCKD. He is fueled by the need to rescue his friends and reclaim their future with the backing of Vince and The Right Arm.
