Marona's Fantastic Tale

The narrator, known as Nine, is born to a street dog and a purebred dog. This origin story highlights the themes of love and acceptance as she exemplifies blind love despite her mixed lineage.

As the youngest of a litter of nine puppies, Nine is soon given up by her mother. This marks the beginning of her journey as a stray, emphasizing the struggles and realities of life on the streets.

Nine meets an acrobat named Manole who takes her in and names her Ana. The two form a bond as they travel together, performing street acts and experiencing the joy of companionship.

Ana finds happiness and love in her life with Manole, feeling loyal to him as they share experiences on the streets. However, she senses that her presence is holding him back from pursuing his aspirations.

Back on the streets, Ana encounters a construction worker named Istvan who starts bringing her food daily. Over time, she acquires her third name, Sara, as she develops a bond with him.

Istvan decides to take Sara to his mother's house, but the visit turns sour when an accident occurs, causing his mother to hurt Sara. This moment signifies the instability in Sara's life, prompting Istvan to adopt her fully.

At first, Istvan's wife appears enthusiastic about having a pet, yet her love quickly diminishes, leaving Sara to sense the family's unhappiness. This signals yet another chapter of uncertainty in Sara's life.

While wandering through a park, a little girl named Solange discovers Sara and takes her in, naming her Marona. Initially, Solange’s family is cautious, but they gradually begin to embrace their new companion.
