Elsa reveals to Claire that she believes Lola is her daughter. Claire refutes the claim, setting the stage for a potential DNA test that could resolve the dispute.

Claire and Bernard reveal the truth: seven years ago, their own daughter died in a fire. At the hospital, Claire heard another baby crying and saw Elsa lying on the floor; believing Elsa was dead, she took the baby and passed it off as Lola, leaving her own dead child in place as Elsa’s baby.

Claire and Bernard decide that Lola should be returned to Elsa. Elsa and Lola then go for a walk together, with Lola appearing surprised but not opposed to the decision.
