In 1996, four unrelated suicides occur in the rural town of Mahalakshmipuram, each leaving confessional writings on walls about illicit affairs. The town appears peaceful externally, but underlying conflicts among residents suggest deeper issues. Newly assigned SI Maaya starts investigating and suspects these deaths are murders rather than accidental suicides.

While investigating, Maaya catches RMP Viswanatham writing a confession on a wall. A struggle ensues, during which he manages to restrain and tie her up in his backyard. This confrontation reveals his involvement in the mysterious happenings around the suicides.

Maaya questions Viswanatham about Sailaja, a victim he cares for. He admits Sailaja was sexually abused due to hormonal imbalance and fell for her college professor, Madan, who exploited her before abandoning her after marriage. These revelations provide insight into Sailaja's troubled background.

After her heartbreak, Sailaja's emotional turmoil leads her to make impulsive decisions, including engaging in sexual encounters with various men. Her mental state deteriorates as she struggles with societal judgment, eventually drawing Viswanatham's protective support.

Sailaja's body is found in a well, and the villagers assume she committed suicide due to social shame. Before her death, Viswanatham tries to shield her from blame, highlighting her victimization amid the village's gossip and morality standards.

Viswanatham uncovers that Rajeswari Devi, wife of the village Zamindar Prakasam, and her lover Vasu, along with others having illicit affairs, conspired to kill Sailaja. They orchestrated her ostracization and murdered her to hide their own secrets, culminating in her being murdered on a Tuesday night.

Ravi, Sailaja’s childhood love, is revealed to have staged his own death in a fire accident to protect her. He adopts a new identity as a graveyard keeper and vows vengeance, eventually killing those responsible for Sailaja's murder alongside Viswanatham.

Before her death, Sailaja is convinced by Ravi and Viswanatham to marry Ravi for a fresh start. Their plan highlights her desire for love and redemption amid the chaos caused by her previous life and societal condemnation.

Prakasam overhears Sailaja's plan to marry Ravi and confronts his wife. She stabs him in a moment of rage, leading him to push her off a terrace and set her on fire, staging her death as a sacrifice to the village god Maalachamma.

Believing the deaths are divine punishment for sins, Maaya concludes the suicides were actually murders carried out to conceal illicit affairs and personal vendettas. She attributes the cycles of violence to moral corruption, wrapping up her investigation.

In a private confession, Viswanatham admits to having killed Sailaja's killers to avenge her death. He also explains that Prakasam killed his wife for betrayal, revealing the layered motives behind the chaos in the village.

Ravi, with Viswanatham’s help, kills Vasu for his role in Sailaja's death and then takes his own life by drowning in the same well where Sailaja was murdered. His actions symbolize retribution and tragedy intertwined.

In a mid-credits sequence, confessional writings about illicit affairs surface in nearby villages, creating new tensions. The film ends with images of Sailaja and Ravi's ghosts haunting the same well, hinting at a supernatural sequel.
