Leo and Ellen are a thriving couple living in New York, completely absorbed in their demanding careers. Leo, the genius behind a wildly successful website, has found himself surrounded by wealth and formidable choices. On the other hand, Ellen is a committed emergency surgeon, pouring her heart and soul into long shifts to save lives. Their eight-year-old daughter Jackie, played by Sophie Nyweide, often prefers the company of her Filipino nanny, Gloria, over her mother, despite Ellen’s attempts to connect with her.
Gloria has her own little ones back in the Philippines, with her eldest son struggling to secure a job so she can forgo working overseas. Unfortunately, tragedy strikes when he gets injured, prompting Gloria to immediately resign and head back home to care for her family.
Meanwhile, Leo travels to Thailand to finalize a business contract, only to discover that further negotiations are needed from his colleague. Feeling restless in a foreign land, Leo encounters alluring women eager for companionship; however, at first, he refrains from any physical indulgence, even going as far as to pay a prostitute to leave him alone one evening. Eventually, temptation gets the best of him, leading him to an intimate rendezvous with a local woman, which he later regrets. Determined to put his business obligations behind him, Leo instructs his colleague to accept the contract terms so they can hastily return to their lives in the United States.
