Malaikottai Vaaliban

Vaaliban tells Rangarani that he cannot love anyone. This refusal stems from his lifelong identity as a warrior trained by Ayyanar to be a weapon. Having been raised without familial warmth or emotional attachments, Vaaliban has internalized the belief that love makes him vulnerable and weakens his purpose as an undefeated fighter. His entire existence has been defined by combat and dominance, leaving no room for emotional connections.

Chinnappaiyyan is manipulated by Thenamma into believing that Jamanthi's unborn child belongs to Vaaliban rather than to him. This false information inflames Chinnappaiyyan's jealousy and sense of betrayal. Thenamma deliberately fuels this误会 to push Chinnappaiyyan toward violence, exploiting the emotional tension within the group to orchestrate Vaaliban's downfall.

Earlier, Rangarani eavesdrops on Jamanthi's pregnancy announcement and misreports the father to Thenamma.

Vaaliban is not an orphan as he believed. Ayyanar reveals to Chamathakan that Vaaliban is actually the son of Malaivettai Vaaliban, Ayyanar's rival fighter. Years ago, Malaivettai defeated Ayyanar and took his wife, resulting in Vaaliban's birth. Ayyanar then raised Vaaliban as his own son and trained him as a weapon specifically to seek revenge against his biological father.

The film hints at Ayyanar's unusual dedication to molding Vaaliban into an unstoppable warrior from infancy.

Ayyanar reveals Vaaliban's true parentage to Chamathakan as a final act of vengeance after Chamathakan kills Jamanthi. Knowing that Vaaliban's entire life has been built on a lie and that his purpose was to destroy his own father, Ayyanar uses this revelation to further destabilize Vaaliban's world. He also poisons Chamathakan before leaving, suggesting his own broken state after the chain of betrayals.

Chamathakan poisons Vaaliban on the road to his scheduled duel with Macaulay Maharaj, causing temporary blindness. The poison weakens him and he is captured by Portuguese soldiers. However, Vaaliban miraculously recovers his sight the next day, allowing him to defeat the Portuguese fighters with help from liberated slaves and his allies.

Chamathakan's vendetta begins when Vaaliban humiliates him at the betting parlor in Nooraanathalayur. This encounter offends Chamathakan's pride, and when Vaaliban later defeats Mangottu Mallan in Mangodu, Chamathakan's family loses their honor and status. Driven by shame and rage, Chamathakan embarks on a killing spree and resorts to poisoning Vaaliban, willing to use any means necessary for revenge.

Vaaliban mistakenly kills Jamanthi. During the temple festivities, Vaaliban senses Chamathakan in the crowd and rushes to protect Jamanthi. In the chaos, he stabs a masked man he believes is Chamathakan, only to discover the attacker is actually Chinnappaiyyan wearing a mask. Jamanthi dies in the confusion, and the tragedy deepens the rift between Vaaliban and his adopted son.

After Rangarani confesses her love to Vaaliban and is rejected, she tells Thenamma about her heartbreak. Thenamma then schemes to make Vaaliban fall in love with Rangarani regardless of his feelings. When Rangarani mishears that Jamanthi's child belongs to Vaaliban, Thenamma uses this false information to manipulate Chinnappaiyyan into jealousy and violence against Vaaliban, turning the group against each other.

In Adivaarithur, Vaaliban defeats the reigning champion through the customary brutal ritual of victory. This tradition allows the victor to claim the ex-champion's house and wife as part of his earned reward. By doing this, Vaaliban establishes his dominance in the local hierarchy and marks the beginning of his legendary status.

Vaaliban defeats the Portuguese fighter Macaulay Maharaj with crucial help from the liberated slaves of Ambathoor Malaikottai. Thenamma frees these slaves, and they join forces with Vaaliban during the battle. Rangarani also provides support. This victory allows Vaaliban to expand his dominion over the Portuguese territories.
