Omi Khurana Kunal Kapoor’s London dream has just ended. Omi was a pimp to high-class escorts in pubs and was not above stealing money from them to pay for his extravagant lifestyle. A dangerous UK gangster Shanty Manish Makhija who he owes money to has asked Omi to return to his native village in Punjab to get the 50,000 pounds he needs to repay Shanty’s debt. Omi lost the money in various schemes related to real estate or the stock market, and Shanty threatens to shoot Omi unless he has a realistic plan to return the money.

Omi’s plan is to extract the money from his family Dhaba which is famous all over Punjab. He pretends to be a well-heeled London lawyer, weaving a tense deception to buy time and recalibrate his path. Much has changed since Omi ran away from Lalton Village, Punjab a decade back after stealing money (Rs 6 Lakhs) from his doting grandfather, Daar Ji Vinod Nagpal. Daar Ji has since become senile and forgotten the secret recipe of Chicken Khurana, the dish that once made the Khurana Dhaba famous across Punjab. With Daar Ji unable to keep the business going, the Dhaba has fallen dormant and the rival Dhaba owned by Kehar Singh Vipin Sharma has taken over the market.

The family circle is quirky and fraught with old loyalties. Dalidri is the house servant, while Hemraj Rajendra Sethi is Omi’s Chacha and Lata remains his Chachi, complicating the tensions with warmth and history. Omi’s childhood sweetheart Harman Huma Qureshi is now a doctor and soon to marry his cousin Jeet Rahul Bagga, though neither seems thrilled about the impending union. Harman is furious that Omi vanished a decade ago, while Omi insists that Harman proposed first and that their bond never truly faded. Jeet, for his part, is portrayed as someone who is dealing with a personal struggle that colors the wedding plans, and the story gently unfolds the nuance of his feelings for the widow of an army Jawan named Shama Chatterjee.

In the village, Daarji’s memory of his late wife Muskaan lingers, and the belief that a visiting crow carries her spirit adds a spiritual undercurrent to the household. Daarji used to cook for Muskaan with a secret ingredient, a ritual that inspired the Dhaba’s fame. This memory anchors Omi’s quest to salvage the family business and stirs a sense of responsibility that contrasts with his former life in London. Hemraj is deeply skeptical of Omi’s motives, and tensions flare as old debts and new ambitions collide within the Khurana home.

Omi’s attempt to secure the Dhaba’s future leads him to reconnect with the family’s culinary heritage. Harman and Omi gradually grow closer during the kitchen sessions as they work to decipher the recipe and recreate the dish that once drew Punjab’s crowds. The moment of vulnerability comes when Harman kisses Omi, revealing the complexity of their rekindled connection. In a surprising turn, Buaji Dolly Ahluwalia enters the scene with her entourage and crosses into Daarji’s room in the night, searching for medicine and revealing a crucial twist: she had taken Daarji’s digestion Churan and rolled it into a cigarette, a makeshift link to the secret recipe. The Churan turns out to be a hidden ingredient connected to the Dhaba’s signature dish, and a chance accident—when the cigarette falls into a cauldron of chicken—provides Omi with the missing clue to recreating the revered recipe.

With this revelation, Omi decides to restart the Dhaba rather than selling it off. The emotional center of the film shifts as Omi confesses the truth to his family and is welcomed back with forgiveness and renewed warmth. Simultaneously, Harman’s life takes shape in a new light as Jeet confesses his love for the widow and articulates his own struggle to marry Harman.
