Maj. Joe Nolan leads the South Pacific expedition to recover the missing atomic-powered rocket. He is mission-focused, decisive, and quick to question Rostov’s motives, which fuels tension within the group. He devises tactical plans to outmaneuver dinosaurs and dangerous terrain, guiding the team toward safety as the island collapses.

Lt. Danny Wilson serves as the expedition's pilot and trusted teammate. He demonstrates practicality and courage, assisting in flight operations and on-ground survival tasks. He helps coordinate attacks on predators and supports Nolan's plan to navigate the perilous plateau. He stands by the team until they reach safety.

Sgt. Willie Tatlow is the aircraft mechanic and dependable crew member who helps maintain gear in the field. He participates in the survival effort but is fatally gored by a Triceratops during a critical moment, sacrificing himself to protect the others.

Michael Rostov is a rocket scientist haunted by the Holocaust, carrying personal trauma into the mission. He is capable yet guarded, and his past fuels Nolan’s suspicions about his true motives. Rostov works with Phillips to retrieve the rocket data and prove his loyalty to the mission.

Robert Phillips is a fellow scientist whose cautious demeanor emphasizes safety and analysis. He collaborates with Rostov to retrieve the rocket’s data, and his practical approach helps the group navigate the threats posed by the island’s predators and terrain.

Stanley Briggs is an expedition member who dies accidentally during the ascent up the escarpment, marking a grim reminder of the island’s hazards and the stakes of the mission.

Native Woman is the island’s resident guide who helps the survivors after the crash. She indicates where the rocket's descent occurred and shares knowledge about the terrain and wildlife, offering crucial aid to the group.
