In the year 2116, society has imposed a cruel mandate that individuals must end their lives at the age of 21. This harrowing rule establishes a chilling backdrop where death looms over the youth, symbolized by the vibrant colors of their palm flower crystals that indicate their remaining time.

As citizens approach their 21st birthdays, they are compelled to enter the CTF Sleepshop. Inside, they confront their fate as a euphoric toxic gas leads them to a peaceful end, removing the chance for rebellion or escape.

The palm flower crystals serve as a stark reminder of the impending death awaiting each individual. These crystals change colors as one ages, transitioning from yellow to blue, and red, finally reaching a dark hue at the age of 21, which symbolizes their last moments.

A group of brave rebels called the Runners emerges, challenging the oppressive system designed to keep them in line. They believe in a sanctuary where they can live freely, away from the grim fate that society has enforced upon them.
