Lingaa

In Solaiyur, the dam stands as a beacon of hope while a corrupt MP, Nagabooshan, schemes to destroy it for a lucrative contract. He aims to replace the dam with a project that promises millions, putting the village at risk. A dam inspector refuses to certify the dam as safe, setting off the central conflict.

As he dies, the inspector hides a pen drive containing the official inspection report inside an abandoned temple. He warns the village head, Karunakara, to open the temple only when the time is right. This relic becomes the key to exposing the corruption later.

Karunakara believes only a descendant of Raja Lingeswaran can unlock the temple. He sets out to locate that lineage, sparking Lakshmi's mission to discover the kin. The search drives the human and political threads of the tale.

Lakshmi, a fearless journalist, tracks Lingaa down and convinces him to join the quest. Lingaa resents his grandfather's legacy and the poverty it caused, but he agrees to return to Solaiyur with Lakshmi. Their partnership rekindles hope for the dam's fate.

Lingaa is welcomed by the villagers who are unaware of his past plans. The villagers' trust contrasts with Lingaa's own baggage and fuels his gradual transformation. The pair forms the core of the mission to protect the dam.

Karunakara reveals that the temple's lingam is carved from a valuable emerald stone, heightening the temptation around the relic. Karunakara recounts Raja Lingeswaran's brave fight as a government officer and freedom fighter who built the dam for Solaiyur's benefit. Tragedy strikes when allies are killed on a train protecting the project. The British collector’s ominous hints reveal the danger Lingeswaran faced.

Lingeswaran is unjustly banished by outsiders who crave the dam's resources, and Mani Bharathi's interests tangle with the construction work. The villagers realize the truth and yearn for Lingeswaran's return, even as Lingaa resolves to change his ways.

The narrative shifts as Lingaa chooses to reform and joins Karunakara to safeguard the dam. He moves from self-interest toward a shared purpose with the village and Lakshmi.

Desperate, Nagabooshan abducts Lakshmi and escapes in a hot air balloon rigged with a bomb. The threat aims to obliterate the dam and break the resistance.

Lingaa climbs aboard, ejects the villain, and tucks the bomb into the reservoir. He uses quick thinking to avert disaster, preserving Solaiyur's lifeline.

The police release Lingaa, recognizing his heroic act. Lakshmi joins Lingaa as they begin a new chapter together, with the dam secure and Solaiyur hopeful again.
