On the distant planet of Turo, the United Galactic Federation apprehends the erratic scientist, Dr. Jumba Jookiba, for conducting illegal genetic experiments. He has created a formidable creature known as Experiment 626—an aggressive, bulletproof being engineered for destruction. This monstrous creation possesses extraordinary abilities, including fire resistance and immense strength, making 626 a significant threat. The Federation, witnessing his savage behavior, including an inappropriate response to a desperate inquiry about his potential for goodness, quickly determines that he cannot coexist with any other living species. Consequently, 626 is sentenced to exile on a barren asteroid.

As fate would have it, during transit, 626 cleverly escapes confinement by manipulating the weapons aimed at him, causing a chaotic breach. A ship hijack ensues, leading to a crash landing on Earth, specifically on a secluded island in Kaua’I, Hawaii. Although ill-suited for the ocean due to his heavy density, 626 miraculously survives the mishap.

Following his landing, 626 finds himself in a precarious situation when he is struck by a vehicle and subsequently placed in an animal shelter, stripped of his weapons and identity. Meanwhile, the Grand Councilwoman enlists the help of Jumba and the Earth specialist, Agent Pleakley, to retrieve the escaped creature without disastrous measures.

In the backdrop of this extraterrestrial chaos, we meet Nani Pelekai—a struggling orphaned teenager trying to support her rambunctious younger sister, Lilo, after the untimely death of their parents in a tragic accident. Lilo, filled with mischief, disrupts the local hula practice and fiercely defends her belief that her pet fish controls the weather. Their dynamic is further complicated by the scrutiny of social worker Cobra Bubbles, who questions Nani’s capability to care for Lilo, threatening to separate them if their situation does not improve within three days.

Amidst the rising tensions, Lilo prays for a friend—the one who wouldn’t abandon her. Heartfelt wishes lead Nani to the shelter where she adopts 626, who has assumed the guise of an adorable dog and is renamed “Stitch”. Although Stitch tries to blend in, he disrupts their lives, triggering wild adventures across the island and drawing the attention of Jumba and Pleakley.

As Nani navigates her working struggles and Lilo’s antics escalate, the trio surprisingly forms a bond. Stitch, rejecting his programmed violent nature, begins to learn about familial love and acceptance, often hearing Lilo’s lessons about Ohana, which means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.

But Jumba sees only a monster in Stitch, determining he can never truly integrate into a family. As the turmoil escalates, Stitch finds himself in dangerous situations; the Grand Councilwoman tasks others to retrieve Stitch, setting off a chain of events that leads to confrontations, rescues, and ultimately, self-discovery.

In a gripping climax, Nani and Stitch band together to face ruthless challenges, culminating in a showdown involving a volcanic explosion that leads to Stitch saving not just Lilo but also affirming his place within the Pelekai family. The culmination brings about a resolution, with the Grand Councilwoman allowing Stitch to stay on Earth, recognizing the bond he has formed with his newfound family.

In a finale brimming with growth, Stitch, Jumba, and Pleakley integrate into the Pelekails’ lives, showcasing the transformative power of love as they rebuild their home and embrace their united family dynamic, highlighted by thrilling moments of hula dancing and camaraderie.
