As Megamind (Keith Ferguson) embraced his new role as the guardian of Metro City, he faced the monumental task of maintaining peace alongside his loyal ally Ol’ Chum (Josh Brener), who was previously known as Minion. Together, the dynamic duo set out to thwart the evil schemes of the Go-Fish gang, who were intent on stealing a valuable underwater treasure. The brave actions of Megamind earned him the coveted key to the city, solidifying his reputation as a true hero.

However, it wasn’t long before Chum started to feel overlooked and unappreciated in their partnership, prompting him to explore new avenues. Recognizing his friend’s growing discontent, Megamind made the difficult decision to allow Chum the freedom to seek other opportunities.

In the meantime, the notorious Doom Syndicate, a group of supervillains with whom Megamind once ran, escaped from their confines with a plan to reunite with him, mistakenly believing he was still steeped in villainy. They instigated a crime spree, challenging Megamind to showcase his darker side through an extravagant bank heist. Fortuitously, Keiko Morita (Maya Aoki Tuttle), his number one fan, stepped in to assist him in orchestrating a convincing faux robbery.

While Chum found employment at a rundown diner, Megamind cleverly misled his former colleagues into thinking he still harbored evil plots. He concocted an elaborate scheme to launch Metro City to the Moon using rockets hidden beneath the city. As the Doom Syndicate readied their nefarious plan, Megamind skillfully delayed them, knowing they could either catapult the city into space or obliterate it altogether.

Realizing he couldn’t tackle the Syndicate alone, Megamind sought out Chum at his newly refurbished diner, eager to enlist his help. However, witnessing Chum’s renewed sense of purpose made Megamind regret his decision to push his sidekick away.

When the Doom Syndicate finally closed in on Megamind, they unraveled his facade and outnumbered him, leaving him feeling defeated. As he stepped into an alleyway to regroup, he encountered Roxanne (Laura Post) and Keiko, who reminded him that it’s perfectly fine to ask for help. Soon after, Chum returned to Megamind’s side, recognizing the inherent value of their partnership.

United, the fearless team of Megamind, Chum, Roxanne, and Keiko launched a counter-offensive against the Doom Syndicate. Although they couldn’t prevent the city’s launch, they successfully redirected Metro City back to safety. In the wake of this victory, Roxanne was chosen as the new Mayor, while Keiko proudly activated an innovative hero signal, serving as a testament to Megamind’s personal growth and acceptance of teamwork.

In a mid-credits scene, the imprisoned Doom Syndicate was paid a visit by none other than Megamind’s former mentor, Machiavillain (Adam Lambert), leaving audiences eager to see what other adventures await.
