A sleek black Porsche 911 with the license plate S-B 2795 glides through the serene French countryside, its windshield adorned with a yellow tag proclaiming “24 Heures 70.” As the car approaches a racetrack, the driver, Mike Delaney, steps out and gazes intently at a spot beyond the safety barrier. In a poignant flashback, the scene shifts to a night race at Le Mans, where chaos ensues with a catastrophic crash, resulting in the death of Piero Belghetti driving the #18 Ferrari. While Lisa Belghetti watches in disbelief, Mike suffers injuries and is transported away on a stretcher.

As the titles roll, the atmosphere of Le Mans is depicted, showcasing early pre-race activities filled with campers, repair crews, and enthusiastic spectators. A medical van is prepared, police patrol the area, and a train arrives, bringing in racing fans. The #5 Ferrari 512 and the #22 Gulf Porsche 917 are carefully unloaded, as drivers don their nomex racing suits, including Erich Stahler, PJ Dion, Mike, Johann Ritter, and the young Claude Aurac.

With the finish line approaching, it becomes a stunning showdown between the three competitors. Ultimately, Larry Wilson crosses first, followed by Mike Delaney in second, and Erich Stahler takes third.
