Shankar and his sister Revathi are orphans struggling to survive. He steals bread from a nearby tea stall to feed her, risking trouble for a moment of relief. When he sees another hungry boy, he shares a piece of bread, showing his compassionate side despite poverty.

Shankar takes up the responsibility for Revathi and the other orphans, doing whatever he can to earn bread. He slowly drifts from a petty thief into the leadership role of a small-time gang as he fights to provide for them. His choices begin blurring the line between survival and crime.

During this period, he helps a nearby village and earns its gratitude; the locals begin to treat him like a god for his efforts. His acts of protection and generosity win him respect beyond his criminal image. This goodwill foreshadows his later influence and power.

Shankar bashes up Dada's men, drawing Dada's attention and respect. Impressed, Dada offers him work and hints at a larger opportunity.

Shankar initially rejects working for Dada, but when Dada proposes a partnership, he agrees. He becomes part of Dada's crime syndicate and starts climbing into a leadership role.

Beyond crime, Shankar is a gifted dancer who also teaches dancing. Radha, a devoted admirer, falls in love with him and the two perform several musical duets. Their relationship adds a romantic thread to his public image.

Kalyan Chakravarthy falls in love with Revathi, and the couple's wedding is planned with Shankar's support. Through Shankar's influence, Kalyan is appointed as a police officer, deepening the ties between the families.

Kalyan learns of Dada's criminal connections and asks Shankar to help eliminate Dada's group, unaware that Shankar is already a partner in the same syndicate. This request places Shankar in a dangerous loyalty bind. The city underworld buzzes with whispered plans and shifting loyalties.

Shankar decides to quit Dada's company and conveys the plan to Dada, but Dada warns that he is not responsible if his brother-in-law dies. Despite the threat, Dada soon promotes Shankar, making him head of the syndicate.

Rexon and Michael, unhappy with Shankar's ascent, recruit another gang to eliminate Shankar and Dada. The underworld plot heats up as rival factions prepare for a final clash.

Kalyan and Revathi confront Shankar about his criminal life and demand answers. Shankar explains the circumstances that led him into crime, but the couple remains wary and chooses to walk away.

Michael, Rexon and their gang attack Dada's group and kill Dada along with the villagers whom Shankar had helped. Enraged, Shankar battles the attackers and eliminates the rival goons.

After exacting his vengeance, Shankar surrenders himself to his brother-in-law, marking the end of his criminal arc. The film closes on his decision to face consequences rather than continue the cycle of crime.
