Kuntilanak 3

A newly engaged couple, Stella and Rimson, vanish during a trekking trip in a virgin forest. The SAR Komodo Team is formed to search for them and bring them home. The forest mood hints at dangers beyond a simple missing-person case.

Darwin, Asti, Herman, and Petra organize the mission and coordinate their search through the forest. They prepare equipment, assign roles, and commit to finding the couple. The team sets out into the dense terrain.

The team encounters Samantha on their route and persuades her to join the effort. She carries a wary attitude and personal motive that hint at deeper stakes. As they press deeper, the boundary between the living and the supernatural begins to blur.

The group arrives at the forest entrance, only to find the passage blocked. They choose to continue by climbing into the hilly, deeper woods. Darkness and unease mount as they push farther from civilization.

After settling down to camp, the crew pressures Samantha to explain her reason for entering the forest. Strange noises and supernatural phenomena begin to influence their decisions and push them to venture further. The camp becomes a ground for mounting dread.

Samantha discovers Stella's red shawl and recalls her encounter with Mega N. Widjoko. She is urged to go to Ujung Sedo to eliminate the Kuntilanak's wangsit, a move that would free the victims from its hold.

A thick morning mist disrupts their equipment as they follow Yenny, the landlord's daughter, toward a cave opening. The group splits into two to cover more ground and confront whatever lies inside. The moment marks a closer brush with the cave's ominous depths.

Inside the cave they experience terrorizing events and unexplainable encounters. They eventually exit with a stark warning: Samantha must go to Mbah Putri's house, the origin of the Kuntilanak's wangsit in the Mangkoedjiwo family. The cave seals the sense that a larger plot is at play.

Back at the clearing, the Kuntilanak haunts Herman, dragging him toward quicksand. The group steels themselves to keep moving, but fear tightens its grip as they realize they are being hunted. Samantha's resolve hardens in the face of the supernatural threat.

The next morning they discover a ghost village, a cow carcass, and a crying baby. Despite warnings, Petra takes the mysterious infant, glimpsing that its presence is tied to the Kuntilanak's power. The eerie setting deepens the mystery.

The baby goes missing at night and Petra is attacked by the Kuntilanak. Asti, Darwin, and Samantha search for her, while Samantha encounters Yenny again and follows her into a field of fallen leaves where blind children chase a white horse. Darwin is enchanted by the demon and takes his own life.

Asti promises to endure the danger alongside the group. Yenny and Samantha reach Mbah Putri's dwelling, where the elder awaits and prepares to reveal the Kuntilanak's origin. The tension escalates as the truth edges closer.

Mbah Putri explains the Kuntilanak's origin: a vengeful spirit from a mother who bore the devil's child, bound by a pact for immortality. She composes the Durmo chant, sung by Samantha and Mangkoedjiwo descendants to summon the Kuntilanak. The demon's strength grows with the souls it has devoured.

The Kuntilanak's plan culminates as the Durmo chant intensifies and the devil's child is released toward Sam's womb. Samantha instructs Yenny to head to the rescue point, and she climbs a waterfall, leaping to sacrifice herself so the child dies with her. A rescue helicopter then descends to save Asti, Yenny, and the captives, while a hand appears beneath the waterfall’s stones, hinting at Samantha’s fate.
