Their mission is to find Kwai Chang Caine, the Shaolin priest with a price on his head. Chung Wang acts as both valet and weapon, used to coerce Caine's surrender. The encounter sets a tense chase in motion across the frontier.

The ensuing battle ends with the Deputy and Mrs Perkins killed.
