A Valkan priest and ally to Zareta, Ascalante helps Kull navigate danger and escape to pursue the Breath of Valka. He embodies faith and courage, paying a high price when mortally wounded during the pursuit. His steadfast resolve anchors the group amid magical and political peril.

Juba is Kull’s wary associate who commands the ship and provides passage on a perilous voyage. His cautious pragmatism shapes their navigation through threats at sea, and his loyalties are tested as danger closes in.

The mad ruler of Valusia whose tyranny triggers Kull’s intervention. Borna’s death removes a key obstacle to Kull’s claim, and with his last breath, he names Kull as successor, catalyzing the king’s eventual return to power.
