Dr. Sonali R. Sanyal, Juhi Chawla Mehta, treats four patients who each carry a heavy internal burden: Dr. Mukherjee, Raja, [Arshad Warsi], Gangadhar, [B.N. Sharma], and Dabboo, [Sanjay Mishra]. Dr. Sonali lives between care and courage, trying to keep their fragile lives on a steady course despite the unpredictable storms inside their minds. The four are not just patients; they form a fragile, unlikely unit that clings to moments of ordinary life as a shield against the chaos of their conditions. The film follows their effort to experience something as simple and communal as a cricket match, a national celebration that might offer them a shared, healing distraction.
On Independence Day, Dr. Sonali negotiates with the hospital’s top doctors to permit the four to attend a India vs England cricket match. She fights for permission, and after some tense persuasion, she wins it. The plan is simple yet fraught with risk: take the four to the stadium, let them taste a slice of normalcy, and maybe, just maybe, rediscover a sense of belonging beyond their diagnoses. The morning after, as they head toward the match, they pause at Dr. Sonali’s clinic to collect some papers, and she asks them to stay seated in the car for safety.
In a cruel twist of fate, Dabboo, [Sanjay Mishra], steps out to use a nearby spot, glancing back just long enough to notice a kidnapper removing Sonali’s disguise. He witnesses the abduction but cannot speak or warn them; the moment passes, and the group remains oblivious to the danger as Dabboo returns to the car. The mood shifts from anticipation to creeping unease, but one by one the others exit the car to search for Sonali, each drawn into separate paths across the city. The kidnapper’s plan unfolds in the background—Sonali is being bribed to sign papers declaring a criminal named Rana, [Mukesh Rishi], insane at an 11 a.m. deadline the next day.
As Raja, [Arshad Warsi], moves through streets and stores, he runs into a tearful reunion with his ex-girlfriend Shikha, [Dia Mirza], after a broadcast features her voice as the speaker on the news. The sight stirs old feelings and unsettled debts, pushing Raja toward Shikha’s home where she has a new fiancé, Pranav, [Ashwin Mushran]. The confrontation turns physical as Raja clashes with Pranav, and he’s expelled from the house once more. Alongside this, Gangadhar, [B.N. Sharma], returns after following schoolchildren singing a patriotic tune and encounters Dr. Mukherjee, realizing the car with the four patients has vanished.
The four eventually converge at a nearby traffic station and file a missing-person report for Sonali. A plan forms: they will call Sonali’s husband, Ravi K. Sanyal, [Rajat Kapoor], to tell him what has happened. They locate him at a hotel, only to have him receive a call from a man who claims Sonali is safe, leading them to suspect the man behind the kidnapping. They are soon confronted by the same captor—Dabboo’s glimpse of the kidnapper is enough to keep them moving, but the danger remains imminent.
To salvage the situation, the four kidnap Ravi K. Sanyal at a Star Awards function and pressure him to declare a Rs 50 million reward for Sonali’s safe return. Ravi K. Sanyal escapes, but this too is part of the plan: the group has planted a camera to record what he does and says, turning the moment into leverage that could unravel the conspirators. They head to Pranav’s office to show the video, hoping it will compel Shikha’s partner to act, but Pranav stalls.
A taxi driver later brings four people who have found Sonali to a village where she is hidden, but they are captured and buried in the earth like seeds, a haunting image that travels through the four men as a chilling reminder of the stakes. The driver then alerts the group, who rush to the scene only to find Sonali wrapped in a bag, missing again as they approach. They manage to trace her to a hospital, where Sonali is brought to a room near where Rana is being held. The remaining three doctors—joined by Dr. Mukherjee, who had briefly escaped to see his own wife at the same hospital—corner Rana and subject him to a harrowing sequence of injections, electric shocks, and a simulated heart-stopper, all in a bid to extract the truth.
In a stark reveal, the group explains to Sonali that her husband was the orchestrator behind the kidnapping, and that the rescue operation has become a calculated act to force the criminals into the light. With Rana exposed and the culprits unmasked, the four patients’ strange, shared journey culminates in the return of balance to their lives. The film closes on a note of quiet relief as they all head back home, having navigated fear, manipulation, and the fragile path toward healing together.
