Kodi

Kodi and Anbu are born in Pollachi, Tamil Nadu, into a family shaped by politics. Their mute father Murugan, a low-rung Democratic party worker, self-immolates in 1995 to protest a factory's toxic mercury waste. The party president names the twins, pulling them into the political arena from the start, with Kodi growing up immersed in politics while Anbu remains comparatively apolitical.

Kodi earns a rising profile and is appointed District Youth Wing Organizer for the party in the Coimbatore district, despite opposition from ex-minister Marimuthu. His charisma and work ethic win over the local cadres and push him up in the political ranks.

During a street confrontation, Kodi accidentally breaks a trolley of eggs Malathi is trying to sell. She chases him to a college cafeteria where she mistakes Anbu for Kodi, learns they are twins, and Anbu and Malathi soon begin a romance.

Malathi later reveals how mercury waste near her village poisons residents and destroys livelihoods. Anbu shares this concern with Kodi, deepening the brothers' resolve to tackle the issue politically.

Rudra, frustrated by stereotypes about women and poverty, overhears Arivazhagan the state education minister having falsified his schooling and nomination papers. She informs the Democratic party, which files a suit; the minister is disqualified and by-elections are announced for Pollachi.

Rudra befriends the ex-minister, becomes interim District Secretary, and then ejects him from influence. She steels the party for the upcoming by-elections.

Anbu provides documents about the mercury waste to Kodi, who discovers that ex-minister Marimuthu and the Democratic party top brass were responsible for the villagers' suffering during their time in power. He shares this truth with Rudra in confidence.

Rudra raises the scandal in a public speech with Kodi's document-backed support, aiming to shake up the by-election race. The Democratic leader plots to silence Kodi by nominating him as their by-election candidate against Rudra. Leaked vacation photos of Rudra and Kodi destabilize the campaign, and the Chief Minister orders Rudra to reframe the campaign within a day.

In a tense meeting in the woods, Rudra reveals the ex-minister's obstruction to Kodi. Arivazhagan's goons ambush the pair, but Kodi defeats them; Rudra then backstabs Kodi, apologizes, and declares him her last obstacle.

Kodi is killed during the confrontation, and the by-elections are postponed for three months due to the death of the candidate. Rudra is left to confront the fallout of the betrayal and the ongoing investigations.

Anbu is expelled from Kodi's party after clashing with its members. Rudra later arranges for him to contest the MLA by-election, and he wins unopposed, rising to the MLA position and beginning to influence the political landscape.

Anbu is sworn in as MLA and congratulates Rudra, but his demeanor has begun to mirror Kodi, unsettling Rudra. He hints at being deeply invested in the murder mystery and the mercury waste case, signaling a darker alignment with Kodi's cause.

Kotraivel, a Democratic party member, finds a forest camera recording Rudra killing Kodi and threatens to expose her. Rudra uses Inspector Ravichandran to destroy the evidence and plots to kill Kotraivel, while Anbu remains intent on bringing the truth to court.

Rudra kidnaps Kodi's mother and Bhagat to force Anbu to the factory. Anbu realizes Rudra killed Kodi and fights her goons; Bhagat impales Rudra with an iron rod, wishing for Rudra and Kodi to live happily but leaving her for dead.
