The man, identified as Fugain, is captured and brought to the police station. There, he faces a grueling interrogation led by Commissaire Buron, who is determined to uncover the truth behind his involvement.

During the interrogation, Fugain recounts the distressing events of the previous night. He claims to have discovered a dead body outside his home, with its pockets rifled through before he called for help.

Intrigued by Fugain's story, Buron steps outside for a brief chat with her son, taking a moment for herself. During this time, she enjoys a hot dog, blissfully unaware of the growing tension inside.

Philippe, a new police officer with a missing eye, becomes involved in Fugain's interrogation. In his attempt to connect with Fugain, he accidentally opens a drawer and meets a tragic end, suffering a fatal injury to his eye.

As chaos ensues, Fugain quickly hides Philippe's body in a nearby cabinet and cleans up any evidence of blood. Buron returns without knowledge of the incident, as Fugain continues his story.

While engaging with Fugain, Buron reveals a disturbing aspect about herself—a hole in her chest. This revelation adds an eerie layer to the already tense atmosphere in the interrogation room.

Philippe's expectant wife arrives at the police station with news of her pregnancy, only for Fugain to seize the moment to fabricate a ridiculous tale about his own stomach issues. This irritates Buron further as her patience wears thin.

As Fugain's memories blend with reality, he envisions Philippe reappearing with the deadly object still lodged in his eye. This hallucination hints at an impending tragedy looming over the characters involved.

Fugain encounters Philippe's wife once more and ominously hints they will meet again soon. He alludes to Philippe facing an untimely accident, deepening the tension surrounding their situation.

Buron opens up about a challenging three-day ordeal she faced following a helicopter crash on an isolated island. Her story resonates with Fugain as he grapples with his own struggles in the interrogation room.

In a moment of bemusement, Buron offers Fugain an oyster from a colleague, but he foolishly chews on the shell instead of swallowing it. This highlights his inexperience and adds to the surreal vibe of the interrogation.

Sudden loud screams interrupt the conversation, prompting Buron and Fugain to investigate the source. Buron notes a striking resemblance between Fugain’s neighbor and one of her colleagues, further complicating matters.

Champonin, Buron's colleague, arrives with the forensic report that reveals the deceased had suffered from a digestive hemorrhage, which raises Fugain's hopes for his release. However, Champonin soon finds Philippe's eye, complicating Fugain's story.

In a shocking turn of events, it is revealed that the police station is actually a theatrical stage, prompting applause as the actors, including a bewildered Philippe, take their bows. Fugain remains oblivious to this reality, convinced he is still a suspect.
