Following his father's demise, Shakthi takes over as the managing director of Rajasekhar group of companies. He is overwhelmed by personal and professional troubles, including business losses and relationship issues. These struggles leave him feeling dejected and overwhelmed.

Shakthi faces emotional turmoil as his girlfriend Anita marries someone else, and his estranged mother, who eloped years earlier, sues him for business shares. These events deepen his feelings of loss and frustration. His personal life is in disarray, adding to his overall dejection.

Seeking escape from his troubles, Shakthi quits his office and boards a train without a destination in mind. The act signifies his desire to disconnect from his problems and find solace or clarity. On the train, he encounters Anjali, a bubbly girl traveling home.

During the train journey, Anjali's talkative nature irritates Shakthi. His emotional state leads him to consider jumping off the moving train to end his life. However, Anjali's presence and conversations distract him from his despair, preventing him from acting on his suicidal thoughts.

Anjali confesses her love for Gautham and reveals her plan to elope with him due to her orthodox family's objections. She discusses her desire to be with Gautham in a different city, highlighting her rebellious spirit and the constraints she faces.

Anjali finds Shakthi missing from the train at night and persuades him to stay behind and catch the next train. Both end up missing the subsequent train and stay in a lodge, where they develop a friendly bond. Shakthi begins to admire Anjali's lively attitude.

Unhappy with her scheduled wedding to Mokkarasu, Anjali plans to elope and meet Gautham in Ooty. Shakthi agrees to accompany her, and they leave her family home. Her family mistakes her departure as an elopement, causing misunderstandings.

Shakthi drops Anjali in Ooty despite her resistance and reveals that their journey together is over. He leaves to return to Chennai, feeling heartbroken but optimistic about his business revival. Shakthi’s emotional growth begins here as he resolves his internal struggles.

Back in Chennai, Shakthi adopts a positive mindset inspired by Anjali. He makes significant improvements to his business, leading to excellent performance of his company's shares. His efforts result in a successful turnaround and renewed confidence.

After nearly a year, Shakthi learns that Anjali has lost contact with her family. His concern grows when Anjali's father visits him seeking information about her. Determined, Shakthi promises to find her and bring her back.

Shakthi travels to Ooty and meets Gautham, discovering that Gautham asked Anjali to return home because he could not convince his own father. Gautham had been too busy with his new business to reach out to her, which shocks Shakthi and intensifies his search for Anjali.

Shakthi locates Anjali working in a school in Ooty. He asks her to return with him to Theni, but she initially refuses, expressing heartbreak over her separation from Gautham and her family. She feels guilty for her actions and the pain caused to her loved ones.

Gautham apologizes to Anjali on their return, leading to a reconciliation. Their family's misunderstanding results in a grand welcome celebration for Shakthi and Anjali, who are mistaken as a couple. The event signifies acceptance and happiness in their relationships.

During the celebration, Anjali runs to the railway station and confesses her love to Shakthi, who reciprocates. Their emotional confession marks the beginning of their true union. The movie concludes with Shakthi and Anjali finally coming together happily.
