Julia’s Eyes

Tormented by an unseen presence, Sara, who is blind, prepares to hang herself in the basement. She hesitates and the stool beneath her is kicked away, leaving her to die. Her death triggers Julia miles away to collapse, sensing that something is terribly wrong.

Miles away, Julia collapses, sensing that something is wrong with Sara. The sensation is linked to the presence she feels and foreshadows the eerie connection between the twins.

Julia, who can still see and shares Sara's degenerative disease, insists Sara was not depressed and that something else happened. Isaac urges her to stop investigating, while doctors inform them Sara's eye surgery had not been successful.

Julia meets Soledad, Sara's elderly blind neighbor, who warns about 'men who live in shadows' and hints at danger. Soledad's view foreshadows trouble ahead and her backstory with her son Ángel is introduced.

Hearing that Sara had a boyfriend, Julia and Isaac visit a hotel nearby. There they encounter Créspulo, an elderly janitor who warns of dangerous 'men who live in shadows' who tire of being ignored.

Isaac disappears, leading Julia to fear an abduction by the invisible man, though the police remain skeptical. Shortly thereafter, Créspulo is killed, but the authorities rule it an accident.

Julia's eyesight continues to deteriorate as the investigation continues. The inspector returns to Sara's house and discovers a suicide note and Isaac's body, confirming there are hidden truths behind the surface events.

An eye donor is found, and the operation to restore Julia's sight goes ahead. Julia must wear protective bandages for two weeks, and the morgue agrees to keep Isaac's body so she can say goodbye.

Julia returns to Sara's house with Iván, the home nursing aid, and faces disorientation as she adjusts. Iván's patience helps her regain independence during this fragile recovery.

Four days before the bandages are to be removed, an unseen man nearly drugs Julia; she wakes, panics, and knocks him down. She escapes to Blasco's apartment, where he makes advances before she gets away.

While in Blasco's building, Lía, Blasco's shy daughter, reveals that Iván is the invisible man who tormented Sara and ruined her surgery, and who keeps walls covered with photographs of Julia and Sara. Julia hides in the bathroom and tears off her bandages early to see.

Iván returns and pretends to console Julia, but she realizes she can see when he tries to coerce her with a fake emotion. Her scream confirms she can see, turning the dynamic on its head.

Iván drives Julia back toward Sara's house, where Soledad's deception is exposed: she is not truly blind and her son Ángel is involved. Soledad knocks Julia out, and Ángel blinds her.

Julia escapes if possible and reaches the police; she uses a flashlight to reveal Ángel's hiding place, but Ángel slits his own throat when seen.

In the hospital, doctors reveal the damage to Julia's new eyes is irreversible, but Isaac had donated his eyes to her. Using her last hours of vision, Julia says goodbye to Isaac's corpse, acknowledging his gift.
