In the early 1880s, the American West becomes a strange crossroads of science fiction and old‑fashioned gunplay as Dr. Maria Frankenstein Narda Onyx and her brother Rudolf Steven Geray descend upon a dying prairie town. Maria’s aim is monstrous and meticulous: to use the brutal prairie lightning storms as catalysts for experiments on immigrant children kidnapped from the town, wiring their minds with artificial brains to revive them as her obedient slaves. Rudolf is reluctant to help, but fear of Maria’s wrath keeps him in line, even as he secretly poisons victims as soon as she brings them back to life, making the body count harder and harder to hide.

Nearby, Manuel Lopez Felipe Turich and Nina Lopez Rosa Turich decide it’s time to flee with their daughter Juanita Estelita Rodriguez because disappearances mount and fear gnaws at the edges of their town. The couple’s departure marks one more ripple in a valley already crowded with danger. Into this uneasy frontier stride two gunslingers: Jesse James John Lupton, the infamous outlaw who has somehow survived his reputed death, and Hank Tracy Cal Bolder, a dimwitted brute who serves as Jesse’s hulking enforcer. They hook up with Butch Curry Roger Creed, the head of a local gang called The Wild Bunch, and together they hatch a plan to rob the next stagecoach for a cool $100,000. Yet the gang’s plot trembles on the edge of betrayal, as Butch’s own brother Lonny Curry Rayford Barnes decides to go to the sheriff and offer information in exchange for a deputy position and a hefty reward.

The stagecoach robbery spirals into violence: the sheriff and his men shoot down two remaining Wild Bunch members and seriously wound Hank. Jesse and Hank, wounded but stubborn, limp toward the Lopez camp to tend Hank’s wounds and then press on to the Frankensteins’ house to seek what help they can, despite Manuel and Nina’s warnings. Maria, ever the strategist, agrees to lend a hand and even covers for her guests when the sheriff and Lonny come calling, but her true plan is far darker—she intends to turn Hank into another of her experiments.

Maria makes a calculated attempt to ensnare Jesse, sending him, via a note, to the town pharmacist—though the note reveals Jesse’s identity to the pharmacist. The sheriff is away at the moment, but Lonny steps in to confront Jesse and claim the reward. A perilous escape follows, with Jesse killing Lonny in the process. He returns to the Frankensteins’ house only to find Igor—Hank’s monstrous alter ego—capable of overpowering him and tying him up.

Juanita, witnessing the danger, alerts the sheriff, who races to the house to arrest Jesse. Maria tries to shield her guests, but Igor proves too unpredictable and violent for even their twisted plans. A scuffle erupts, and Juanita frees Jesse with the sheriff’s aid, while Igor makes his own chaotic move. Maria orders Igor to crush the sheriff, but the monster overpowers her and turns his attention to Jesse. In a final, decisive moment, Juanita grabs the sheriff’s gun and shoots Igor, ending the monster’s reign of terror.

The dawn after the confrontation finds Jesse burying Hank, a quiet moment of reckoning under a pale sky. Juanita pleads with him to stay and build a life with her, yet Jesse—recognizing the danger his fugitive status poses to the girl he’s come to care for—rides away, leaving the sunset to seal their grim romance with distance and hope that the worst is finally behind them.
