In the hillside Shiva temple, a lazy priest falls in love with the temple priest's daughter, and she reciprocates. He is portrayed as flawed by his drinking and gambling. Their romance introduces tensions around social duties and the priest's responsibilities to the village.

Yesu Babu, who loves Jayamma's elder daughter Pushpa, tries to woo her by gifting silver anklets. Pushpa enjoys his company and the two grow closer, hinting at a parallel romance. Their budding relationship runs alongside Jayamma's family drama, affecting village dynamics.

Jayamma's husband suffers a heart attack and needs urgent surgery costing ₹400,000. She hopes to fund his treatment with money gifted by the villagers after the first family event. When the village only contributes ₹77,000, her plan is upended and she faces a nerve-wracking shortfall. This sets the stage for her relentless fundraising effort.

Determined to secure the rest of the money, Jayamma starts visiting every household to collect contributions and seeks help from the village council for justice. As days pass, only a few villagers pledge money. The elder brother of Jayamma's husband rejects support, citing longstanding family enmity and cutting ties with the Jayamma family. His refusal exposes the depth of feud that complicates communal solidarity.

A villager with a sick child argues that a mute, uneducated forest-dweller who supposedly practices black magic is to blame. The council is urged to expel the alleged black magic practitioner. The episode shows how superstition can obstruct compassion and cloud judgment.

It is revealed that the so-called black magic man is actually an Ayurvedic practitioner who travels the forest for herbs. His medicines help the sick child recover, and the boy is his best friend who helped him with the treatment. After the truth comes out, the villagers apologize and begin contributing again.

The priest promises to donate after his marriage, but his lover belongs to a lower caste. The village head expels the lovers' families on caste grounds. Later, the community reassesses and allows the marriage, acknowledging the injustice.

The boy who wooed Pushpa spends the gambling money on anklets and is hidden by Pushpa in the attic. Jayamma catches them and the couple flee into the forest, where they are captured by naxals. Jayamma rescues them and warns the boy to stay away from Pushpa.

The boy's father expresses gratitude to Jayamma for saving his son and helps with money for the cause. Two years later, her husband again falls ill due to a delay in operation and needs another surgery. News of this triggers rumors that Jayamma is once more organizing events for her younger daughter.
